Bugzilla in Bulgarian on GitHub

Exactly 14 years ago on this day I committed the localization of Bugzilla 2.18.1 in Mozilla-BG project repository on OpenFMI. I have considered using Bugzilla as bug tracker for my home server since the spring of 2005 and when I was reviewing the project I noticed that there is no Bulgarian localization, so I decided to contribute. The translation was done in the summer of 2005 and in the autumn I began searching for a way to publish it. Initially, I considered SourceForge, but finally decided to become part of Mozilla-BG project after I was invited by Ognyan Kulev.
The localization was moved to BitBucket in 2012 after OpenFMI was decommissioned, so the repository was converted from Subversion (SVN) to Mercurial (Hg). It was then when some problems with the SVN repository become evident, but I found no time to fix these until now. Well, it was about time to migrate the project to Git and publish it on GitHub and I accomplished it last week. The Bugzilla-BG project is now on GitHub with all its history since December 2005. And ever since you could try the localization at Sotirov-BG.Net Bugzilla.
The localization went a long way from CVS on my home server initially to SVN, then Hg and finally ended up in Git. My only project that went through this path :-)

Have fun!
Merry Christmas!

Translations of Bugzilla 5.0.5 and 5.0.6

A few days ago I accidentally noticed that there are new versions of Bugzilla namely 5.0.5 (from 2019-01-30) and 5.0.6 (from 2019-02-09), which apparently appeared silently in the beginning of the year. Silently, because at leas I haven't received any notification and apparently I haven't logged in the web interfaces of my installation quite a while to notice the notification on the main page. I would have to check with the developers abut the notifications by e-mail, because they may have figured out something new. You could download the last version from the official page, but I highly recommend you to upgrade with Git - it's lot more easier and faster, especially if you have additional extensions, skins and other changes (see Upgrade below).

About the translation

Anyway, today I managed to update the translation. The changes were not much, because these are pure maintenance releases without significant new functionalities, which to come with new templates. Everything is already pushed to the repository, which I want to reorganized and eventually migrate to Git, but I still do not find the time. Generally the project seems not to develop well in the past 2-3 years, so I do not know it worth it. I'm leaving it as a task eventually for the summar.

Upgrade

This morning, after I prepared the translations, I managed to upgrade my installation, which was absolutely flawless following the instructions for direct upgrade from Git. With 5.0.5 the table bugs_fulltext was converted from MyISAM to InnoDB, and with 5.0.6 the type of the columns type_id in the tables flaginclusions, flagexclusions and flags was changed from  smallint to mediumint (see Integer types), which show allow for many more flagtypes. I got delayed a little only because I had to cleanup some local changes and hide (with .gitignore) some files (logs, patches, archives with translations, and etc.). That reminded me to issue a pull request for one of my local changes - adding of viewport meta tag, which is important nowadays for support of mobile devices.

Download the translations

You could download the translations form the usual places by FTP or HTTPS or download directly  version 5.0.6 and upgrade the translation by just de-archive in the base directory.

Happy using! And of course happy Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavonic Literature Day (a.k.a Saints Cyril and Methodius' Day)!

Translation of Bugzilla 5.0.4 and 4.4.13

I was just about wondering what's going on with Bugzilla's development, when this morning I saw the announcement for 5.0.4 and 4.4.13 in my mailbox. Given it was Saturday, I started updating the translations immediately. You could now have them from the usual places (for 5.0 and 4.4). These releases came 1 year and 9 months after the previous ones, which I find rather strange (the bugs fixed for 5.0.4 - e.g. 1273846, 1310728, 1301887 and 1303702 were all reported 2 years ago and some of them were fixed more than a year ago). Both releases were triggered by the security issue (see the security advisory, bug 1433400 and CVE-2018-5123), but I think this is the longest period without a new Bugzilla release in the past 12 years that I'm translating it.

Translation of Bugzilla 5.0

With a month of delay from the official release here comes the translation of the latest Bugzilla 5.0 in Bulgarian. I started two weeks ago and it took me that much time, because there were ton of modifications in the templates and not exactly into the strings for translation, but the templates need to be synchronized to ensure proper work of the application. I also spent some time identifying and fixing errors in the templates, so I believe this is the best translation ever. Of course, feel free to make me aware if you notice wrong translation or problems.

Translation of Bugzilla 3.2

Well, I just managed to complete the translation of Bugzilla 3.2 and it's available from my FTP server.

For the translation of Bugzilla 3.0

Phew! I just cannot cope completing the translation of Bugzilla 3.0. Although, it's already in project repository, I do not have the time to complete the last quality control of already translated. And I don't want to release the package with the translation before I'm sure that there are no any obvious errors and inaccuracies.
I really hope that I'll be able to release the translation by the beginning of August, because after that it would most probably remain for the beginning of September. And I do not want this to happen, because anyway the delay is already big.
I'm sorry to everyone, that eventually expect the translation.

Translation of Bugzilla 2.22.2

Yesterday I released the updated Bulgarian localization of Bugzilla 2.22.2. Although, that there was only one new sentence for translation I had to update the templates to the last version, so they do not cause problem for those who use the locale.
I don't know why, but again the update was late by almost 3 weeks, because again I found out for the new versions late. Although, the I keep an eye on the feeds and newsgroups, somehow the news of the new version slipped out of me. I one of the newsgroups that I watch there is announce, but I can't understand why I've missed that out. Maybe it is a good idea the translators to be notified timely for the new versions even before their release.
But yet I managed to catch the announce of Bugzilla 3.0rc1 and I'll begin the preparation of the translation just now, so when the new stable version comes out in April I would be ready and I do not have to catch up.
As usual you can download the new packages from:
Enjoy using!

Translation of Bugzilla 2.22.1 (also 2.18.6 and 2.20.3)

A day and half ago I managed at last to release the updated Bulgarian translations of Bugzilla. For the new 2.22.1 version several things needed to be translated and templates synchronized, because most of the changes were in the code and not in the text. Simultaneously with this I made several improvements of the translation and spell check fixes.

For the old versions the only thing that I done was to synchronize the templates. One way or another there were only code changes, and I don't have the possibility to support this versions qualitatively.

The packages can be found on the usual places - project packages and my home server.

Although that the changes this time were not much, the translations and the synchronization took full month, because

  • I learned late for the new versions released by Bugzilla;
  • I had problems with the softer, I use for the translation;
  • I didn't have enough free time.

Happy using!

Updated translation of Bugzilla 2.22

After lots of tests of the new translation and clearing some sentances, as well as syntax error fixes in the templates today I'm happy to announce the updated translation of Bugzilla 2.22. This is maybe the most qualitative translation for the moment. I recomend to all of you to update your installations. In the moment I don't think I'll transfer the changes and fixed problmes onto the old (2.18 и 2.20) branches, because I don't see interest to them.

You can download this release from the usual places:

This version I devote to my daughter Gabriella. I love you.

Translations of Bugzilla 2.22rc1, 2.22 and 2.20.2

This friday and saturday I managed to complete the translation of the new branch of Bugzilla - 2.22, as well as to do the translation of the 2.20.2 version. The packages for the official version I put on the project pages few minutes ago, as well as on my personal ftp sever. I hope the are usefull for someone, because considering the count of the downloads the translation doesn't draw much interest. Good night! ;-)

The translation of Bugzilla 2.22

Two weeks now as I'm translating Bugzilla 2.22rc1. The tings go slowly, because there are many new files. Since the idea of Bugzilla is full localization, now should be translated things such as edition and creation of products, as well as edition of parameters - things that up until now were only in English. I hope in the following several weeks to manage to finish the translation, so when the new 2.22 version come out it will be ready. Currently I don't know instaltion, which uses 2.22rc1, but if I don't find one until the moment of finishing the translation I'll have to update my Bugzilla to be able to test the new things.
